Top Line Palat - Kerfoot? - Craig Smith?
He was kind of a throw in for NJ so easy enough, and man that makes finding top line wingers even tougher for Seattle.

How much space do we really have to sign a UFA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>Also I sneakily like the idea of just adding Stastny from Vegas who will need cap space bad this offseason, he has 1 year left at 6.5m....If you can gain an asset to take back stastny who was still 53% on faceoffs and a 40 point player...talk about an ideal 3rd line C who can be trusted for Defensive draws over Compher or Bellemare</div></div>
Oh I like that Idea. in this model we have like 12 mil next year as well since Landy and Makar ate most of the cap in this second season. Since Vegas needs to shed cap not that expensive, but would they trade him to a top contender out west? If we tossed Jost plus Z or Graves in a trade gives us Stats plus a guy for 7-8 mil.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>6.5m is the safe number to add this offseason, which still allows for up to 8m for Landy, 9m for Makar, 5m for Bura, and 5m for a goalie extension
Avs will lose roughly 3m in someone being picked by Seattle, Compher Donskoi or Graves, so you can add that to the cap space</div></div>
Yeah the question is who can we add for that amount. It is to little for Hall and if we do add him we can just trade a dman or someone. but what do we want in those trades picks or players.
I think the big question is there some big trade candidate out there with a top 6 player, they don't need or want that would be better than Hall.

Wank
Giving way to much to Tampa to help their cap situation. Also Killhorn and Cernak are not huge upgrades. Also too much for Graves.

Logical Maybe so maybe not
Honestly everything is sound, but I feel a Graves or Zadorov trade is more likely. Cole would make a great mentor for Byram for one year. Makes Makar's extension a bit tight if he gets 8 mil +. Like the Hall deal and it could make sense for him if things go well for the NHL financially.

Marner solution
You don't want Barrie Killing penalties. Also No way marner gets 11.5.

Using that cap
Bad Leafs deal Why would we trade Barrie for Defensive futures? Also Avs are not resigning Varly so that is a waste of cap.

Interesting. I too like the Panarin signing. Doubt Z signs for 3 though. Also is LOC ready for NHL? You could really save money on some of the lower guys, Graves, Kamenev, and Greer should all be 800k just on one ways so its guaranteed.

Thread:
realistic I think
The Idea would be to find a starting goalie on the market such as Bishop. And sign a russian free agent like shipeshev, as well as maybe take on a bad contract or two. The big question is who to trade all the d-men too cause they cannot all be buried. Also I wish we could up load these teams to Armchair gm to really fill them out with Free Agents.

Viable Barrie and Grigerenko signing plus depth forward
Its all about term though If Barrie is given a one year, through arbitration or agreement Avs have 9 mil in opened up capspace to pay him more next year.

Malkin to the Avs
Pittsburgh would never trade Malkin, but cannot lie I don't hate this trade and that second line would have so much speed, if Haglin could learn to finish it could easily be most teams 1st line.

I don't know why you let Pickard walk away for free thats just silly. Your going to have to give up more for Drouin.

Giant Trade w CGY
First Freddie Hamilton is never going to be a consistent NHL player, second no way we trade Landeskog. I feel like it gives to much up for Dougie Hamilton, basically its Landeskog and Varly for Hamilton. and then you have Zadorov who could be a legitimate top 4 d-man for bouma and a second round pick.

feasible re-signing
I agree with the worry, but the Avs just have two big money contracts locked up in older players right now Stuart and Iginla, but at the end of the year that gives over 9 million in additional cash you could give both over 7 million contracts and still be fine when it comes to cap space.
