Description

This is a important offseason for New Jersey. First they need to decide who they're gonna choice between Hugues or Kakko. Even though Kakko might be more NHL ready I still think they're going to take Hugues. Shero praises the center position and having Hischier and Hugues on center for many season is to hard to pass.
Second, they have to sign Taylor Hall to a extension contract which will cost 9-10M per season. But is Hall really interested in staying in New Jersey? Hall only played 5 games in the playoffs in his career. I'll want to play for a contender and I think he'll even consider taking a little discount in order to be on a contender team.
The Devils need to show Hall they want to move now and they have the capspace in order to be active this offseason. With the change I've made I don't expect New Jersey to be contenders right away, but it show Hall that this team got a structure in place in order to chase the Cup sooner than later. Tell me what you think about this team.

2-years of Simmons & 4-years of Dzingel may be thin enough to leave cap room for 2020 summer, but probably too thin to get Hall to resign.

I would take a hard PASS on Wayne Simmonds. His advanced stats are awful.
