Devils would have zero interest in another goalie, especially at $3m.

They'll take Hoffman off your hands though.

Bob is not gonna take a 3 year deal. He's gonna want 7 years wherever he goes

Is Blackwood an NHL ready backup? Otherwise the devils could use another goalie unless you're stoked on bringing Lack back? Or bringing Kinkaid back in UFA? Also, Hunt sweetens the deal for a more experienced AHL/NHLer who is developing nicely. Think Hoffman can be convinced to waive his NTC for the devils?

Shouldn't be a problem, Florida doesn't play goalies unless they're well into their 30s Vokoun, Theodore, Lu, etc

Yes, Blackwood is an NHL ready backup – and could possibly start more games than Schneider this year. It was about 50/50 this year with Cory's injury, he's easily the goalie of the future.

We're all just guessing regarding NTC and such, but you'd think it wouldn't be a big deal with 1 year left if he wants to test Free Agency. Then again, a long adjustment period could hurt his numbers and therefore his deal in the offseason.

It would definitely need to involve conditional draft picks.

Maybe a trade involving Hoffman and Hall?

I think Lou will end up on LTIR and get traded back to VAN instead of flat out retiring... no recapture penalty for either team smile

Not unless extensions are guaranteed, Hall is younger and better so it would take a big package from FLA to get that to happen.

Huberdeau for Hall is interesting though.

No doubt it wouldn't be straight up, but Florida has a ton of picks they are sitting on also.

Devils need help on D, I could see maybe Hoffman, Matheson, and a pick – or Hoffman, Tippett, and a First, maybe a B-Defense prospect.
