Need to add a piece or two this offseason

Description
Marchessault is an interesting option. Vegas are in need to shed salary this offseason if they want to retain Karlsson long term. With the addition of Stone, one of Marchessault or Tuch will be forced to play 3rd line minutes. Which makes them expendable since Vegas are strapped against the cap. 2 B level prospects and a 1st round pick should be enough to get it done imo, maybe add another piece to the trade but nothing more.

Max Lajoie was a big surprise last season but was quickly put back in his place after a very hot start. With the emergence of Wolanin and the addition of Brannstrom plus Chabot on the left side, there is no room for Lajoie. Juulsen could be an interesting option. He is good in his own end and could really help Ottawa on the right side.

Ben Harpur is just dead weight at this point in time. Trade him for a late pick at the draft and move on.

I don't think the sens should be trading for Marchessault. Really good player on a decent contract, but he's 28 and we're still a ways away from competing. If anything, I'd consider Alex Tuch. He's younger, locked up longer and he used to play with White at Boston College. Probably costs less to because he isn't as good yet.

Sens should not give up their 1sts though.

I agree, trading good prospects and a first for a 28 year old would be bad they would be better off sticking to the plan and bringing in a vet or two in FA

Also, Marchy has a NTC and I think there is a fat chance he waives it to go to the Sens. Tuch would end up being the better option even though it makes me sick at the thought of losing him.

Unrelated to this but I stumbled across your mock draft and I couldn't comment. Legare and Korczak are 2 players I was hoping the Sens would target in the 2nd round too! I feel like Legare is a bit underrated because he's playing in the Q, much like Chabot. 45 goals is 45 goals. And Korczak playing in Kelowna is perfect for how they develop defenseman, he sounds ideal with a lot of upside. I wouldn't mind the Sens trading down from 19. If they could get a late 1st and 2nd that would be great. I also like the goalie Mads Sogaard late 2nd. He played with Hollett in Medicine had but beat his GAA 2.64 to 3.5. and SV% .921 to .895. All playing the same amount of games.

Legare is my pick for this year's "how did he make it to the 2nd round" pick. He's exactly the pure goal scorer the sens need.

Korczak is kind of an underrated player, but he's a mobile two way RD, very similar to JBD and DeMelo. Exactly what we need to compliment guys like Brannstrom and Wolanin.

As far as Sogaard is concerned, I don't know how I feel about it. With our current crop of young goalies, I don't think there's a need to gamble on a goalie in the first three rounds. Goalies are such a crapshoot, I think you're about as likely to find someone good in round 4-7 as 1-3.
