Trader Don - Chitown

Team: 2016-17 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 17, 2016
Published: Jun. 17, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Chicago still needs cap relief to sign Shaw, they pay the price to get cheap Spooner, Griffith and Ferraro contracts. Ferraro replaces Kruger for Q's defensive forward. I see Spooner as the most valuable chip here while also supplying cheap forward contracts. Boston need RHD which Pokka may be able to fill. Bruins also need a defensive center which they receive in Kruger. Most likely CHI moves Shaw, but I don't see him on the Bruins. I'd move Morrow to CHI too if interested.

Pastrnak stretches the ice for Bergy and Marchand. Vatrano is the shooter Krejci has always wanted. Shutdown third line with skill. Acciari, Heinen and Czarnik first call ups.

Krug starts the season on LTIR from shoulder surgery, so Liles is signed. Anticipated cap of $73.9 leaves room for Krug to return. Send Morrow through waivers or trade him. O'Gara, Grzelcyk, Arnesson, Pokka and Carlo for call-ups.

Johnson or Enroth for veteran back-up.

From the Hawks perspective, good job on your explanation! I would rather secure Shaw even if it meant trading Kruger. $3-3.5M/5 years seems about right for Shawzy. Also, I do hope the Bs can figure it out and become relavent again next season!

Way off topic, but what are your thoughts about a former Boston prospect, Justin Florek? I live in his hometown area and would love to see him get another shot in the NHL, preferably with the Blackhawks! I thought he showed some game in his brief callup a couple of years ago as well as in his playoff series against the DRW.

Chicago just traded on of their best assets in TT to get rid of Bickel. I can't see them sending Pokka with Kruger (who's not even a bad player) for basically Spooner.

What's the valuation of the trade from your perspective? As for Florek he didn't look out of place in that series. Good size, skated pretty well. Put up decent numbers in Providence. Seemed like he make a good 4th line Kings type player. Tough to stick in the NHL without faceoff or PK skills on the 4th line. Wasn't particularly physical, which is unfortunate for his size.

I admit I do not know that much about the three Bruins except that they are affordable for a team like Chicago that needs all the help it can get to remain cap compliant. I do not Kruger's contract besides the lack of a clause in this first year of the extension. $3M for a PKer is insane! It will be par for the course once Pokka is traded -- he is the last of the Leddy return. I would so much rather still have Johns even it it meant VP was included in trade. Nill was far too smart for that tho!

Florek scored a shortie against the Wangs in the PO on a great steal and shot. As a Hawk, who discourage hitting, he would fit right in as a 12-14 guy IMO. If he does not get a chance this season, his career may be over. Sigh.

Not sure what happened there. Sorry.
