If James Neal is not as horrible as last year, and Mike Smith's late season 2019 form holds this team should still get into the playoffs. However, its clear that we are still missing a top 6 RW or C that gives us two reliable scoring lines instead of having line #2 being a shutdown one as right now the team's offensive success runs through Gaudreau alone. Obviously from the rumour mill the Flames are looking for that exact upgrade (Zucker-Frolik deadline deal, Brodie/Hamonic shopped for help up front).

Without any moves this team will regress big time. Too many career years to expect it to cotinue next year is crazy
