Not sure wings do that but i would.

I’d rather give up JFk or Zboril, or Seny and secondary piece for Tierney but i love the idea of him as 3C if Coyle had not been so damn good there. Hell i’d consider moving Krejci to recoup some picks if that was done. Give Coyle shot at C2. Not the playmaker DK is by any means but he played well.

Not bad at all though.

I don't think Detroit would take that trade. Helm is cheaper and younger.

I figured krejci always does well with power forwards so coyle might work on his wing, and the late 1st is neccessary with tierney having 2 more years of control and after the season he had

He has 1 year then becomes an RFA, depends on contract from there. And B’s have a lot of other guys coming due next year. Let’s not go overboard, he was solid playmaker, but 9 goals...not sure that warrants a 1st even if it is late. Already short on picks in a solid draft. Not adverse to paying it, just like to explore options.

I was looking more at the 39 assists on that dumpster fire of a team and your 1st is 30th overall anyway, hes solid defensively, a good faceoff guy, and can step into the top 6 if needed

With expansion draft looming i’d rather trade the prospect that won’t be able to protect and keep the pick that won’t be exp draft elig in 21. ??‍♂️

Are you trying to dump Backes or acquire Helm? If it's Helm you want a 3rd or 4th is all that it would take. The problem Detroit is starting to run into is roster spots with a several bad contracts and some a few prospects that are ready for a shot.

Basically cut backes' cap hit, because they have the same amount of term left

Even then they are going to have leave a good forwards unprotected as it is.

Who do you really need to protect in this lineup that you cant? Because 8 of your top 9 will be under contract hypothetically so thats 1 guy missing, and if its kuhlman, like you said you always have guys coming up, whether its frederic steen studnicka bjork

So you are not going re-sign any as they come due? Just let Coyle, Wagner walk? With the exception of Steen those players you mentioned are projected to be exp draft elig as well. Plus there is talk of adding another big FW in a Krug deal.

I get what your saying and outside of the players Detroit doesn't want to trade Helm and Glendening are the only 2 that other teams have an interest in. So if there is a chance to move one of them for a draft pick.

None of your prospects will be eligible and even if coyle resigns he takes 1 of 7 forward spots

The only signed players fully exempt are Urho V, Steen, Laukko, Studnicka, Keyser, Anderson

Not much else of your prospect pool will be on the team by 2021 anyway, besides you can always get a rental 3C like eakin to stopgap so stud can transition smoothly into 3C

Kuhlman, Senyshyn, Frederic will all likely be playing regular by 21. Especially if they don’t resign UFAs. I’ll keep the 1st.

I dont see senyshyn being an NHL'er as negative as it sounds, and yeah I didnt mean a 1st for a rental option like eakin

It would be a mistake for Ott to trade Tierney anyway. They have 16 picks in the first 3 rounds next 3 years. They don’t need more picks. They need to hold him instead. ??‍♂️
