This strikes me as a massive mistake for MIN, they really should be looking to rebuild, not add old players on big contracts

Disagree - Kopitar is elite and Kovalchuk will have a year to mentor Kaprizov before his contract is up.

And for the Kings, they get younger with a couple of quality players and picks to restock.
