The trades don't seem crazy, but I'm not sure why you'd bother? This team certainly isn't reliant on Sprong for next year - Rust almost definitely belongs in the top 9 now anyway and I hope they take it slow with Sprong. And the D doesn't need that overhaul does it? The only trade I'd really like to see is Fleury for a really good LW prospect - strengthen the L side as you have but without giving up so much.

rust and sheary performed almost entirely in the playoffs(at least when they were doing well) Im not sure then can keep up what they were doing. they are unproven, guys that were never supossed to amount to much so im predicting they arent as impactful next year as they were in the playoffs. Sprong seemed to have a good chance to get the spot with malkin but I would also be fine if they went slow with him which they are pretty much forced to do now. I dont see them putting him in the nhl coming off a major surgery during a playoff race, unless they absoulutely need a scoring forward at the time

I think Rust proved himself - he was really impressive. He's probably got a 15-20 goal ceiling but thats all the Pens need. You might be right about Sheary, he looked out of his depth at times, but he also looked perfectly suited to his role at others. But whilst the L side is weak, Guentzel is really promising and Wilson looks solid too. And if you dealt Fleury for a better LW prospect than these 3, then I don't think you'd have to do anything else.
