81500000 Salary Cap

Created by: Leafs_Storm
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 18, 2019
Published: Jun. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't know if I would call any of these trades fully fair, particularly the Marleau cap dump being packaged with a 1st, Brown and Bracco to upgrade 3W to Toffoli, but this was to make a good roster fit under the salary cap and these trades are fair in hypotheticals. Whether LAK would take on Marleau's deal or not is up to management.

well done. Might have to go this way with the lower cap. a little much on the LAK deal, but could see it happening

Yeah, I wasn't sure how much it would cost to take Toffoli since he is reportedly available, and for them to take on the Marleau deal. A 1st and Bracco was probably an overpay, but makes it much more likely nobody thinks LA would disagree with the deal, and if a 2nd and bracco or just a 1st works than you do that in real life.

that fourth line would be elite. they were insane in the AHL. i dont know if mikheyev is good enough to play on the 3rd line but maybe he could switch with moore even though it would mean they would break up the 4th line

Just wanted to chime in here on the cap issue. Am I the only one that laughs at dregger? Seams to be stirring the pot for zero reason. His source... “teams fear the salary cap may be below 83m” exactly what does that mean? Are there any other sources? None that I have seen. The cap could be lower than 83m but I’m positive that teams prepare for the worst.

Yeah, they dominated the AHL at such an incredible level, Moore's success in the NHL makes me think that line as a whole could translate very well against NHL bottom 6 competition. Mikheyev on line 3 is a bit hopeful, but watching video on him, he is a speedy, shoot-first winger, which is why acquiring toffoli who is a two-way player that thinks pass before shoot was the preferred winger to play on that line.
