Brett Leason Self High Five

Description
Went to look at his bio on EliteProspects and realized I had been tracking him back in January. I was looking at prospects in the Juniors with size and skill (A La Tom Wilson). He was near the top of my list back then. Anything can happen, but I think he was a steal that late in the second round. Also really happy so far with our draft. McMichael looks like he could be pretty good.

very good draft so far re-stocking the forward depth with bigger bodies that can motor. very much Willy type size and both players rate highly with decision making and skating. they're not high-point production type guys but good middle roster forwards, exactly what the Caps need 2-3 years down the road.

haha was it weird having a 1st round pick? I feel like the penguins never draft that early

It was a good pick but knowing Pitt we’ll botch his development like sprong, Pouliot, etc..

The nice thing about Leason is that because he’s older he’s closer to NHL ready. Could make an impact sooner rather than later
