why would CAR trade for Marleau and the 1st to just instantly do the same trade with another team? Wouldn't they have just not done the trade to begin with?

CAR needs the cap space for Aho and I think the CAR-CHI shows some regret in the Marleau deal for Waddell insane obsession in picks

Would need a source on that, seems like speculation. Think they wouldn't have made that trade and then a week later decide they actually couldn't afford it. They were rumored to be moving out a D-man long before they got Marleau
