No. Pending UFA LW, 2nd pair RHD and lottery protected first are not going to get you a TOP10-15 C in the world.

You are incorrect. Max the Rangers can give him is 7 years. You have to be on a team's pre-deadline roster to be eligible for an 8 year extension.
