Description

Apparently Van was one of the teams interested in Kane when he was being shopped by Winnipeg, and they could use help on LW. He hasn't turned out to be an elite scorer, but his value is probably still higher than Edler's in a 1-for-1 swap, so the two teams swap 1st rounders as well. Re-signed Hamhuis to fill Edler's role temporarily until the Dman they select at #8 is ready for NHL duty.

Canucks say no. Edler has been a fantastic person the entire time he's been here. Moving down and getting a player with attitude issues is not something I'm interested in.

Kane is super talented but his character just bothers me. Not that Edler is really worth more then Kane but i'd keep Edler just for the fact Kane seems like a problem child. Those players tend to cause more problems in the long run than they solve.
