Description

Ottawa trades up for a pick and a good prospect to reach the cap floor. Zuccarello is convinced that a short term high salary contract is the way to go. Pavelski does the same thing as he dreams about playing for the Sharks again, decides he doesn't want to be next Marleau and traded or bought out. Edmonton gets a speedy 3rd liner with upside and a cheap RD reclamation project and Dallas gets their own reclamation project.
Dallas buys out Nichushkin if he doesn't rediscover his game
Johns health improves and he returns to being a number 4 defenseman.
Either Bayreuther or Cecconi grab the 6th/7th defenseman spot. Either Robertson, L'Esperance, or Kiviranta grab the 13th spot

Would love to get Zucc and Pavs... but neither signs for only 2 years, especially Zucc. I think even 4 years is a stretch for Zucc, and Pavelski wants at least 3 years.

I was always on the buyout train, but I'd rather trade him for a 7th rounder (or better if you can get it) and clear all the cap room plus get an asset versus spending $700K for nothing.
