Description

I have a hard time seeing how this could work without another move to clear some cap space. And it might mean staying with the status quo at backup G and left D.

The depth up front is pretty enticing though. Best center line the Habs have had in (literally) decades, good combination of size, speed, and skill there. Small on the wings but pretty good speed, skill, depth there too.

If you wanna sign Duchene first it's gonna take 10 M x7 and second you would need to pay Armia and Lekho to one year less profitable deal to fit under the cap . I think we should also trade a contract for flexibility ex. Drouin-Girard swap , Shaw vs 2nd+3rd , Tatar against 2nd +3rd or Byron around this price ?

Honestly dont think MTL can swing a Duchene signing. He will cost them 9.5-10 million and take up cap Domi will want next season, plus Kotkaniemi the year after that, then Gallagher and Danult the year after that. All those players are going to be $6 million +
