Wow. Wow, wow, wow. That's... one heck of a trade setup. Personally I don't think I could go for it, tho - it leaves our RHD in tatters (unless Markov can move over, the only legit top-4 RHD we'd have is Subban), overstuffs us on LHD, and puts us straight into a Win Now situation without a #1C (because we're leaning hard on Markov before he falls apart). Looks like a lot of effort went into balancing it out, tho, and it's definitely an interesting approach. I just prefer that we stick by our youth; the end result is a lot more balanced and should last longer. smile

the only thing I really considered on Columbus' interests, is cap relief. enough cap relief for you guys to jump on Burns when hes a UFA next year. Markov and Desharnais contacts are up after next year. you can definitely get some decent UFA from the 2017 UFA class. I can always go after Burns next year but the provincial government here in Quebec will take half his money. he'll ask even more so he can have something left over that he'll be satisfied with at the end of the year. Im sure Burns will accept 7.5 mill for 7yrs from Columbus. And with the 9th pick youll get in return from the Canadiens youll be able to pick up a top notch D prospect on draft day,
