I didn't like watching Clifton play in the playoffs this year, he made me nervous. He was getting penalties left and right too. But as long as Bruins can still secure McAvoy and Carlo I won't mind this signing much.

Even if he never amounts to more than a 3rd pair defender, having a 3rd pair locked up for $1M or less for the next 4y is a brilliant move.

Worst case scenario you bury the entire cap hit in the AHL.
