Description

On the Backes trade: Ottawa has the room and they barely have any contracts into the next couple of years, BAckes contract can help that. They may be able to trade him even at some point and retain half his salary. The Bs already paid him his $3 million on July 1 so it makes the actual money easy to handle for Ottawa. He doesn't want to go there I'm sure but can the Bs convince him that if he stays here hes either playing in Providence or hes going to be on the 9th floor all year? Ottawa could at least use his leadership and he will play every night. Who knows, maybe they can persuade him.

I am taking the easy way out on Kevan Miller, I have to assume he's either on LTIR or traded to someone for a bag of pucks.

Not healthy but he won’t have a LTIR injury at the start of the season. And even if he did it wouldn’t be smart to put him on LTIR because he would eventually have to come off during the season which would cause cap problems
