Marner certainly has other options. He can go the Trouba route and get short term deals so he is a UFA in four years....like Trouba. I agree with your statement though that the Leafs will protect themselves on an offer sheet and get the four first rounders. But Marner and other RFAs must be wondering...Aho who might have been the second best RFA this season after Point gets "only" 8.45m X 5, is that new standard?
