I absolutely hate the idea of trading Craiig Smith, but I might have to get behind that offer. You might not have to pay as much though because he wants to leave Edmonton. Sissons is also our black horse in the playoffs, but it may be a calculated risk worthh taking.

The way i see it:

Nashville likely won't have the cap space for Josi/Grandlund/Smith extensions. Smith is the one i'm most willing to part with and Puljujarvi has great potential still even if he hasn't shown it on the NHL level yet.

Sissons is a 3rd line forward who can step up when needed. We've already got alot of that. Gusev has the potential to be more.

Both Gusev and Puljujarvi have greater potential than what we trade out but that potential may not be reached making it a calculated risk. Combined cap for Puljujarvi and Gusev should be around what we're paying Smith now leaving room for Josi and Granlund extensions in the offseason or if worse comes to worse Nashville could save 1.6M next offseason in a pinch and buyout Bonino next offseason (it shouldn't come down to that.)
