that TOR trade is horrible for the leafs.... they don't need a G prospect (they have 2), they don't need forward prospects (they have 1000), Voracek is old, and Marner is their best player.

So my question would be, what is "fair". Every one knows the leafs can't sign this guy. I totally agree that he is their 2nd or 3rd best player but who's going to save them from the cap? No one in their right mind is going to give the perfect trade knowing how much he's going to cost. I honestly hope this guy gets offer sheeted because i think it would be hilarious.

You gotta be careful with those Leaf fans...they are sensitive about Marner, as they should be. If a deal was made I think it would start with Nolan Patrick and include some defense currently on the roster like Hagg, Sanheim, Myers plus more than one pick

I mean they say they have too many G prospects and 1000 forwards which they don't need. So I read that as nothing is good enough. Maybe Provy and like 7 1st round picks?

Do defensemen not exist in your trade world? I just said the leafs don't need G of F prospects and you automatically assume "nothing is good enough"? Lmfao come up with a package that includes PROMISING or ESTABLISHED young defensemen and picks, I'm sure you can do that and I'm sure that would be fairer than this abysmal package you put together.

And by the way, an offersheet of the highest tier (most likely by the Isles) essentially equates to a trade of Marner for Tavares + four 1st round picks + $10M in cap space which would let them resign their defensemen and seek more quality defensemen with the picks. The Leafs would gladly accept.
