That seems like way too much for Leddy

I redact my original post. Do you think Lou is gonna pull the trigger?

I know Bokk was a former late first, not sure where he ranks in terms of your prospect pool though. If it's too much we could either dial back the pick or level of prospect. But basically the point I was trying to make is shed him for futures

And barzal, pulock and toews are getting extensions with... what cap space in 2020? They're going to need to allocated around 15,000,000+ for those 3.

I already explained in the description that there will be $18.2M in cap space next season. So that'll cover it. And we can also move Boychuk (has an 8 team "yes" list that kicks in next season) to a team willing to absorb the salary. A lot of this team is guys on ELCs the next couple years - Wahlstrom, Dobson, Wilde, Koivula, Bellows (yes I know I traded him here) so there is NO reason to not be aggressive.

Responded already before the edit. Sorry if that comes off as too sharp. But God I hope so.

I don't see how you get the $18.2M figure. All I see is Griess, Boyle, Martin and the cap rise. What's your theory?

I think Las Vegas is likely to take the approach that Gusev has a proven record in a men's league, so is therefore worth more than the average draft pick. Thus they wouldn't be satisfied with less than Wilde plus a second.

I don’t really think the Blues would have much interest in Leddy. He was pretty darn bad last season.

Could've phrased it without the negativity, which is why i redacted it. Generally speaking, I'm also pretty hopeful about the cap increase/outlook in the next few years + hopeful we move the bad ones out. And also, I really only think it's that next 1.5 years of cap management that could help or hurt us. After that, everything is pretty much term'd and stable and, quite honestly, if all goes to plan, I think that's our window. If Lou can make marner work without losing a core player, let's roll.

Gotta consider all the contracts technically coming off before signing them back

.314M available now
+3M cap increase (estimate)
+14.888M coming off the books
= 18.202M

And disagree slightly on Gusev. I think Bellows still has plenty of potential, but most importantly, he played with Vegas' first ever draft pick Cody Glass. They were teammates in Portland and had insane chemistry. I think it would be beneficial to the both of them if they got to play together early in their respective careers

Well, you know, I put plenty of stock in your opinions and knowledge. I was originally gonna say Dobson and then I thought, that doesn't look right, so I put Wilde plus a second. But I'll accept your position on Bellows.

You may be counting the chickens before they hatch on the cap situation -- moving Boychuk may not be that easy, especially at the end of next year.
