Initial Creation Date: Jul. 5, 2019

Description
Not sure if this FLA would have any interest in moving Trochek.

Gallagher has value because of a cheap contract. Thoughts Habs fans?

Gallagher isn't going anywhere, esp not for that package. Would be Valimaki/Hanifin+ if you wanted Canadiens to consider.

Florida trade: They wouldn't have any interest and certainly not for that.

Before I get crucified on the lines. Yes Czarnik is high. I was thinking Tkachuk and Trochek are more than enough to carry a line and make a good pair. I'm curious what Czarnik can due with more opportunity.

The new 3M line is Mangiapane (ready to make a stem) Mikael Backlund, and elias lindholM

Gallagher adds compete to the first line as well as some puck retrieval.

1. Tro would be a great add fro 2C/2RW but will cost our 1st at least.
2. MTL is obsessed with Gallagher so it would cost us one of our top line players which makes no sense

What's the package? He had a down year, but has a favourable contract. Also a bit of a wildcard at GM. Frolik has history with him and actually produced one point less than Trocheck. Then throw in a C and pick.

With the moves Florida have made this off season they definitely have a win now mentality. Trading Trocheck doesn't really fit with that vision, it would have to be a trade that improves them immediately by addressing a weak spot.

That's the issue I see with fit. C/RW is definitely their strength, and this would make more sense had they landed Panarin. Would a package for a offensive dman like Brodie make more sense? Personally, I think the Flames have a really good fit for Brodie with Tampa (Johnson), but pretty much every Lightning forward worth trading for has a full NTC. Who in the right mind wants to leave an excellent team like Tampa with an excellent climate and no taxes.

Gallagher may well not be going anywhere but the package offered is overkill. Valimaki/Hanifin is laughable and ridiculous. Of course MTL isn't really up to date on value, re recent offer sheet, but so it is....

a 50pt player 2 years away from UFA doesn't warrant that. I get Mtl likes him but he's not worth an established top 4 dman plus picks. Hanifin would probably get it done heads up on contract control alone. Mtl may have to add actually.

Gallagher is a back to back 30 goal scorer, that does all the little things right, on an insanely good contract. How is Brodie and Bennett overkill? Youre gonna talk about Habs not being up to value with that Neal contract sitting pretty on the 4th line? that's funny.

Career high 23 assists, 54 points. Only topped 50pts twice in 7 seasons. 5th on his own team in scoring. Last season had close to 50 players with 30 goals or more. He had 3rd least points in that group. He's not returning an all-star like package.

No Cats don’t need anymore offensive defenseman unless it’s a top ELC player. They want a younger shutdown defenseman to start.
