I'd let Marner walk for the 4 1sts before I sign him for 12.5M. Leafs also don't need to trade for another top pair dman they have 3 already. Not saying the D is perfect but all it could use now is a decent stay at home dman. Nylander will be much better next yr

I agree. No way the leafs should pay Marner that money. Let him go, take the firsts and then sign Taylor Hall for less than that next year.

Even if hall wants 12.5M its better to go after him and take 4 firsts than to just pay Marner 12.5

Absolutely. In no world is Marner worth that cap space and 4 firsts

This is what would be needed to be done to keep Marner and to fix depth, plus Hall is very injury prone so idk about giung for him also Marner is worth to keep if leafs dominate and win a cup with him

Yeah, I'd hate to lose Marner. But he'll either sign a fair contract, he'll sit, he'll be traded, or he'll go on an OS that brings the leafs 4 firsts I can't imagine any scenario where the Leafs pay Marner that kinda money. And if Dubas does pay him that, I'd say that's likely a fireable offense.
