Yea, this all Dubas team won't be making the playoffs. He should consider himself lucky for getting a team with 3 young superstars (Reilly, Nylander, Matthews) and a starting goalie (Andersen).

Plus Dubas was the man who traded Kessel for Kapanen and Drafted picks (which Lou ended up flipping to get Andersen). So I guess, in a way, Dubas can get a little credit for Andersen. hmm...

Dubas has done a great job. He was gifted some players for sure but name a gm who takes over a team with no good player? He was also gifted a lack of defence and a few bad contracts. Last offseason was great and this offseason is shaping up to be the same. Think he is doing a solid job.

Dubas was hired as GM May 11 2018, he was assistant GM prior to that and assigned to the Marlies, where he and Keefe won them the Calder cup. Previously they took the OHL Greyhounds from worst to 2nd best. He is responsible for bringing in Tavares, traded 25th pick Dominik Bokk, for 29th Sandin and 76 SDA. and personally I want Sheldon Keefe to be the coach of TML.

Kessel was long gone before Dubas arrived, want to put blame on someone, blame LouLam. I blame Lou for Zaitsev and Nonis for the Kessel trade.

All my research was done by clicking on Dubas' name on this website's Leaf page (it's a great tool, it has ever single player any GM Drafted, signed or traded for), he served as the interim GM in the summer of 2015, after Nonis was fired and before Lou Lam was hired. Dubas was is "charge" of the 2015 Draft and was the acting "GM" during the Kessel trade. I remember we talked about this when the trade happened and you hated it because it was a 29 yr old rookie GM making the trade. Trust me.

I blame Babcock for ruining Zaitsev and not blame Lou Lam for the signing. Zaitsev looked like Top 4 material in his rookie season than Hainsey got signed and Babcock favored him over anybody else and Zaitsev was lost in the shuffle. Irony that Zaitsev and Hainsey will still be suiting up for the same team, be interesting to see how their ex Leaf assistant coach, D.J. Smith, using them. It'll prove whether Babcock was right or wrong on how he dealt with those 2 guys.
