Suggest turning Hamilton around to EDM in the deal (EDM needs right-handed D).

I like the Duchene trade if he isnt wanted in Col anymore. It would take more to pry Hall though.

The reason I don't like the Duchene deal is that Duchene is going to be a UFA in three years. At that time the 3rd overall might be turning into a star. Bobrovsky is the second highest paid goalie in the NHL. The only way he is traded is if CBJ retains salary or takes back a bad contract. Jones whether he deserves it or not will get at least 5m a year.
Somehow, the CBJ has to get rid of some players and contracts and start fresh with some cap room.....Hopefully they start develop their young players. The fan base must be dismayed by the floundering CBJs for all these years.

I like the Duchesne deal.
Conversely, we would have him for 3 years before having to re-negotiate.
I just saw a stat where he is a point a game player on average for all seasons he has played 60 or more games.
With that kind of production along Saad & Bjorkstrand (or Atkinson), in 3 years time we would probably have the CUP (Stanley, not Starbucks) and renegotiate him somewhere in the $9M-$10M AAV range.

Very dismayed. Many a CBJ fan can adopt your moniker "longtimebluejacketsufferer". Columbus has not had a very good track record at the minor league (development) and scouting levels until just recently. Too much investment was made in long-term contacts in the last 3-4 years and now we are really paying for it (no pun intended). it is no wonder the Drouins & Rychels of the world get frustrated sitting behind the log-jam of overpaid, underperforming players above them. I guess that is the new reality of the league, with more parity of talent, quicker development of younger players in relation to the reduction of skills of older players sooner.
