I think those conditions are very generous for a guy Vegas isn't going to be able to financially keep. And if the rumors are true that a 2nd round pick and a ok prospect is what it'll take to get Gusev than your package already exceeds it

You could maybe talk me into the 3 becoming another 2, but certainly not the 1st

Those rumors are what other teams have offered not what Vegas wants, there is a big difference. Otherwise the deal would be done by now

Considering that the first gets involved only if Gusev produces as well or better than Artemi freaking Panarin did in Chicago (77 points in first season, 151 points in the two seasons combined), I think it's very unlikely for NYI to actually pay firsts in this move. And if they do, they certainly move them for a quality asset.

Certainly possible. But at some point the ask will have to come down. Vegas has to get under obviously. And if they're able to trade other piece(s) (Eakin? Holden? Reaves?) I'm not sure if they'd even be able to fit Gusev in instead. Admittedly haven't done the math though

Reaves and Holden would do the trick. But Gusev's only recourse is to go back to the KHL, which would delay his UFA status til he is 29 (defector clause). His stock would end up lower than it is now.
If Vegas doesn't either get him to move his price or get better offers they can play hardball.
Worst case scenario he signs a one year deal for less $$, this way he has his NHL experience and is a UFA next year

- I’d be willing to bet that Gusev will go for under or around a 2nd and a 3rd. No need to include Mayfield.
- If we are moving Mayfield, I’d rather have Dobson take his spot than Honka
- Isles have very little depth at RW, so I don’t think moving Ho-Sang is as likely as everyone thinks it is. I know the coaching staff really likes Kuhnhackl, but at some point we need to actually score and Ho-Sang has offensive upside that Kuhnhackl never will. Do the Isles want offense or not?

Not sure. If they want offense, they would've acquired someone, but they haven't.
