Description
The idea here would be that the Kings are trading carter who has one more year than backes. Bruins add in the 1st Frederic and bjork for toffoli (Now that i look at it that seems like a big overpayment especially since BOS and LAK would be trading bad contracts but I also have LAK retaining on Toffoli) but they are still taking backes who is less productive than carter. idk maybe a 2nd from BOS instead of a 1st? Idk if tht would be enough to get it done. AND John Moore would have to be moved once hes ready to come back of LTIR. I think if the Bruins are confident in the kids on D then it is playable move. Just a little different of an idea than just dumping backes and prospects for toffoli like ive tried mocking and seeing in other mocks. Long term with Steen, Studnicka, Lauko in the system I think resigning one of Toffoli/Coyle AND Krug Grizz and Debrusk is doable. Approx 25 mil in cap before cap raise. LET ME HEAR IT!

1) I'll be surprised if you get both McAvoy and Carlo for under 10M.

2) Moore and Miller won't net you 3rd round picks. There's very low need for depth dmen around the league right now, especially for ones making 2.5M. There's FA dmen still out there willing to sign for less. Teams will look at this as you moving salary, and will treat it as such. Best you can hope for is giving them away for free tbh, but you might also have to pay. Could be different after training camp starts when teams have potential injuries.

3) I don't think LA Kings make that trade even with the 1st round pick. Jeff Carter can still bounce back and prove to be useful. Toffoli @ RS also holds decent value, and there's 2 picks LA's sending as well. To put things into perspective, 1st + Bjork might get the Kings to take on that Backes contract, but there's no way they're sending all this other stuff as well. Kings would rather deal Toffoli @ the TDL and see if Carter can still play than do this in one package.

Kings decline easily. Pick one of them not both, they still decline. You’d have to add a significant piece to get them to consider this.

While Carter does not have an NTC he has threatened to retire if traded.

I think there is a deal to be had somewhere in there with the kings. honestly carter is kind of interesting. He misses games but he can finish. id much rather have him than backes but whats it cost

1. Both on bridge deals that seem pretty close to fair offers imo. might have to make McAvoy 3 yrs instead of 4 maybe?

2. I think both Miller and Moore can play elevated roles and both are versatile being able to play on both sides. Maybe not a 3rd I guess. Depends on the team I guess.

3. I get what youre saying but LAK have a bunch of big contracts and are a team that is looking to rebuild. Taking backes for 2 yrs and giving up Carter with 3 yrs left I would think accelerates their rebuild. Maybe take out Toffoli of the deal?
