Description

Just pay it. Give up the 2nds to get someone to take Holden & Reaves. NJD may want Reaves to protect Hughes. And ANA will like the extra pick considering they know (should know) that they aren't getting to the playoffs this year. Get the extra 2nd to take the money.

In what universe of negotiations 101 does a team give an initial offer of 2m and the player gives their initial counter of 4m do they not meet somewhere in the middle?

Your right. I'm an habs fan and I assume any other fan would love to have Gusev on his team that is maybe the case with the guy you just answer. If every fanbase want him, why Vegas would "give" Gusev for a second and a B prospect. I feel like Vegas should Trade eakin (glass take the 3rd line center spot) and maybe Smith too. Player with Gusev talent are rare

Vegas organization never leaks any info in their 2 years in the league. The one thing both Foley and McPhee have said over the last year over and over again, is that they are in a win now mode. I don't think they ever would have traded Haula without intending to sign Gusev.
Trading Eakin is more of a loss than trading both Reaves and "benchwarming Holden", if they are consistent with their "win now" words

I think they will likely trade Eakin, but at the deadline after they get 10-20 games from Glass as a call up. If he works out, they will trade Eakin for good value at the deadline.
