I did read the other day a Trouba scenario I hadn't heard yet. He signs a 1yr and then NYR signs him for 8yrs so it's almost like a 9yr contract. As a Detroit fan it did bum me out a bit but who knows what will happen. I also think he only signs a 1yr this season and it would be the same if he had been traded to Detroit. I know everybody thinks its all about becoming a UFA and testing the waters. That might be a part of it but I think with the experience he had in Winnipeg he is just being safe not wanting to have a repeat of that. So he signs a 1yr and likes it he signs an extension.

I could see Trouba going to Detroit. As long as they show him the money !
