It’s a fun thought experiment. So let’s say for the next 3 years Point makes ~11 mil and Kravtsov is in an ELC.

So the difference between them is 10 mil.

We know from the Marleau deal that about 6.5 mil of cap space is worth a 1st round pick. So let’s just say 10 mil is worth a 1st + 2nd.

So you multiply that by the next 3 years you get a difference of 3 1sts and 3 2nds which approx = the 4 1sts that just a normal offer sheet would cost without losing any players.

And we’re not talking about past yr 3

Thus....why would the Rangers trade Kravtsov + anything when it would be better value to just offer sheet?
