Isn't Faulk generally considered to be better than Schultz... So why would he take less than Schultz would, as long as we can keep the Schultz deal under 6mil and AT MOST 5 years I'd be fine with it, especially with the Tyler Myers signing ??? that contract wouldn't be bad, Kahun scored 40 points last year... He's not a 4th liner AND he's not going to get paid like one, minimum 2+mil, and at least top 9 mins, and he's probably going to get at least 50+ bc last year was his first year on NA ice and almost every player has to have an adjustment time, and now he's going to Pittsburgh which has an extremely offense first scheme, I could see him getting a very similar deal to McCann and POJ won't be ready, same with Addison (though Addison has a bit more of a chance, but he'll probably need some AHL time, he might get a few call ups though) Tanev probably won't be in the top 6, just swap him and Kahun, Adam Johnson (and possibly that Oula Palve)>Blandisi and the 23 man is over the cap
Yeah I mean this roster is basically just to show we would be fine under the cap moving forward given the proposed first roster. Like I said, whether it's Schultz or Faulk or whoever we can still spend a sizable bit there. Kahun, yes, I agree he's going to get time with Sid and Geno, but I'm judging this off how Sully likes to run his lines and how you should balance lines in general. Kahun deserves a shot at those minutes no doubt, but Sully likes playing pairs together and rotating the wings elsewhere, so say Sid-Guentzel obviously, then it would go down the line: Malkin-Gusev, Bjugstad-Hornqvist, and Blueger-ZAR probably with the other wings moving around. Moreover, having a grinder and a shooter per line, while players don't get restricted to these roles alone obviously, it's good to try and balance it that way.
McCann (passer) - Sid (grinder - best in hockey) - Guenztel (shooter)
Gusev (passer) - Malkin (shooter) - Tanev (grinder)
Chucky (shooter) - Bjugstad (passer) - Hornqvist (grinder)
ZAR (grinder) - Blueger (passer) - Kahun (shotoer)
Generally speaking of course, but this lets us run four effective lines every game instead of being top-weighted or having our bottom lines suck, we despeartely need depth scoring, which is where putting a skilled player like Kahun on the fourth line would come in while Tanev can win those puck battles Malkin and Gusev might be too lazy to go after.
