I can not see any reasonable trade where nylander leaves. Dubas is a numbers guy. He knows what nylander is due for, he knows the chemistry with Matthews and really any goal scorer. (Nylander drives pisssesion and slows down plays to allow scorers to get open) his dedication to the team and fans is sure evidence for a player to hold on to. His cap hit is fair and will be a bargain down the road.... my two cents.

I had 3+ Million cap issues, and he was a quick solve. I would have part with hyman but there would still be an aprox 2M cap issue. Without weakening the rest of the team , trading nylander was a good fix. You get a good player and 2 picks. Or if you have a better solution, show me by making a team that would do for 20 -21

I would say the leafs cut one of muzzin or Barrie loose depending on needs and performance. From everything I’ve seen of sandin that kid is gonna be a beast and you don’t even have him nibbling on popcorn in the press box.

I don't feel comfortable putting in so many rookies on defence. I do understand your point about Nylander, but even if he gets more points than Marner, Nylander would still be easier to move than Marner because of his contract.

As it is with the defence right now, I still feel uneasy having two defence rookies on the line.

Provided you have an experienced anyone... that is two rookies. And this is why we drafted these guys. When a kid is ready you give them the shot. Sometimes it is the only way to not ruin their development.

I can still do that now, with muzzin. The only thing is, still no Nylander ..... because finances.

Muzzin 5.5m and compher 3.5m is 9m... exactly how much do you figure we are paying nylander?

That is still 2 spots taken up instead of 1 .... a solid defence as well as a center.

Muzzin replaced by sandin +4.6m compher repkaced by nylander - 3.5m = +1.1m.

that would leave the defence with 3 rookies .... not good , not good at all. Especially if you wish to do deep in the playoffs.
