1. That kind of money for a bottom pair defenseman os what has Edmonton in a cap bind in the first place. It's a total ChiaPet move. Terrible idea.

2. Gardiner wants to go back to Toronto, but realistically that ship went down faster than the Edmund Fitzgerald with that Kadri deal.

3. If Gardiner ends up anywhere, my money is either Vancouver or Montréal. Some clear fits there. Honourable mention to Jersey..... cuz Gardiner and Scooby-Doo would be awefully effin fun to watch playing together.

if Gardiner was going to sign with those teams he would have already, sure sounds like the teams won't give him term and he might be willing to return to Toronto on a significant discount with term so unlikely he leaves

Maybe. Think the back injury has a lot to do with it too. Habs have been sniffing around.

hes not a bottom pairing defenseman. just because hes on the third pairing here doesnt mean the minutes will be distributed in a way that would see him playing 12mins a night. hed be on PP1 and that pair would be getting the same mins as the second pair, with the top pair playing the tougher matchups with slightly more mins. Think roughly 22mins - 19mins - 19mins

He seems to think he's further up the food chain on the LD. I beg to differ. Apparently so do you....
