What is the point of the Ottawa trade? Are they all just salary dumps or are there some prospects in there?

does that team make the playoffs? I can't see them beating out Boston, Toronto, Tampa, or Florida in the division. I think Buffalo is quite improved. Then you've got caps, pens, islanders, hurricanes. Philly should be better, rangers should be ridiculously improved. I just don't see how Montreal finishes ahead of 3 of those 11 teams.

with the additions, we would be a much better pp which would tranlate into at least 3 or more wins which puts us over 100 points. defense is solid now which would also translate into at least 3 more wins, now we are over 110 points. we would be better than buffalo, philly, florida, hurricanes and even NY. i think you are giving them way too much credit, but time will only tell....

i like how you take a 96 point team, assume that you're adding 12 points and say that you're over 110 points. Interesting math.

Anyhow, that line of thinking doesn't really work. Florida was a really good team that had one major flaw, and they went out and addressed it. I think they're way way better. That might take away a few points from montreal.

If Carey Price turns back to the 2014-2015 carey price and has that kind of season, they can make the playoffs. otherwise, I just can't see how it happens.

also what's that addition that's going to magically transform the PP?

Ehlers had two power play goals last year.

two. Florida is so much better than Montreal it's crazy. Just take a look at the lineups. Start at the top. Florida has one of the best centers in the league, Montreal doesn't have a number one center.
