Cam says no. He has full NTC and I doubt he wants to uproot is family for anywhere.

Youre probably right, players would rather stay on a team going into a full rebuild when they are on the back end of their careers anyway...

That makes zero sense, the whole process is to aquire different assests to open up more trading partners...rather than teams who dont want a top 4 d man but have an asset they feel they could move to help with a rebuild etc...

Problem with your statement is the Jackets are not in a"full rebuild".

That would certainly be a problem if that's what the Jackets were doing.

I honestly dont see how they are competitive next season....they went pretty much all in last season at the deadline and it ended up costing them a lot. Who is left to fill the void of panarin, duchene, bobrovsky, dzingel...if they were smart they would sell their older assets that remain while they can get a good return... Atkinson isn't going to get them a similar return at 32 33 as he is now... IMO

Well, Duchene and Dzingel weren't on the team when it was competitive for most of the year, and there's several kids who are prepared to step up to help with the offense gap alongside Nyquist. And Merzlikins and Vehvilainen are both really excellent goaltenders; we just don't know what they'll do at the NHL level. So yes, competitiveness is a distinct possibility. We live or die based on whether or not one of the kids in net can step up.
