Description
This will be controversial with wings fans!
This is based on how important of a player I believe they will be down the road. Only players who have not yet played a whole season in Detroit.

1. Joe Veleno Yes I have him over Zadina. His skating is way better then Zs and the league is getting faster and faster. He proved last year that he has the ability to score!

2. Moritz Seider At first I questioned this pick during the draft, then when I heard how Stevie went to watch him a couple times I felt better. Then I saw him in the skating drills at the prospects camp, then in the scrimmages. He was amazing to watch on the ice. He moved the puck so well and really showed why he was picked that early.

3.Filip Hronek looks primed to be a stud 2 way D. He has good offensive abilities, he put up half a point per game in 46 games with the wings. For a slighty smaller defensemen he isn't afraid to throw his body around. I think he poised to be a staple on this blue line for a long time.

4. Filip Zadina I know this is a lot lower then most wings fans would put him and I hope he proves me wrong. I have concerns about his skating and his nerve. When he got off to a slow start in gr then went to play at world juniors I figured ok here we go! But he did not show up at all. Now I am far from an expert but I have a feeling he could be a bust. WAY to early to label him that and experts are still really high on him!

5. Dennis Cholowski Dennis cool as a cucumber Cholowski, the guy never get rattled. Plays with great poise and moves the puck well and showed real potential at the beginning of the year. He is gonna be a good offensive defense men. Number one PP guy. Needs to get better defensively to stick around this year.

6. Filip Larson has shown potential to be the goalie of the future for the wings. Since being drafted he put up the best save % in the J20 Superelit, then best save % and goals against in the ushl to win USHL goalie of the year, then last year puts up a .932 save % and 1.95 goals against for Denver makes the all NCAA rookie team. Excited to see what he does this year in GR!

7. Jonathan Berggren I watched him at the prospects scrimmage this year and he reminded me a lot of hirose with better skating ability. He made alot of creative plays and showed that he has good vision. He also showed off some speed and good agility. He was hurt pretty much all last season, i am hoping he can get off to a good start this year where ever the wings have him play.

8. Michael Rasmussen no getting away from the fact that he didn't have a very good rookie season. He showed just how difficult it is to make the jump from juniors to the nhl. In his last season in the whl he light it up and was a force to be reckoned with. He could muster any on that up last year though. I have a hard time seeing him playing center in the nhl but i can see him being a good scoring winger who is a really good net front guy on the PP.

9.Taro Hirose had about as good of a first 10 games as anyone could have hoped for from an undrafted player. 7 pts in 10 games is something to get excited about. Has really good vision and good playmaking skills. Makes subtle plays with and with out the puck. It will be interesting to see what he does this year. I see him as an opening night starter on the 2nd or 3rd line.

10.Jared McIsaac I was really disappointed to hear the news about his shoulder surgery that kept him out of the prospects camp and will keep him out of the prospects tourny and preseason. One thing that I really liked to hear though was that he played through the injury for a big chunk of the season. I think he is going to be a good tough dman who likes to throw the body around. He is a good skater and put a really good number last year despite being injured.

Between Seider,Hronek, Cholowski, and McIsaac I think our D core has a chance to be really good in the future.

I'm agreed with most of your picks. Your D will be stacked ! I was at Bell Centre for Zadina's games (second one I think) and I he was disapointing (I was hoping seeing more of him vs KK). Some flash but was affraid of the traffic (but only 19 nothing alarming yet). Hronek getting 0.5 pts by game at 21 years old is very impressive. Hope Seider makes the team he was very good at the WC.

I consider Hronek graduated and no longer a prospect. I also wouldn't consider Hirose to be a prospect.

My top 10 is probably.

1. Zadina
2. Veleno
3. Seider
4. McIsaac
5. Cholowski
6. Rasmussen
7. Mastrosimone
8. Berggren
9. Lindstrom
10. Larsson

Yea I can see not Including Hronek as a prospect because I feel like he is pretty much a sure fire hit, but I included any one who hasn't played a full season. I like Mastrosimone too! in an article i read after the draft the knocked his skating, but I thought he looked really good at the prospects camp. He was for sure a stand out and I thought his skating was better then they gave him credit for.

I am happy to have gotten Seider in the draft and I think he is gonna be a stud, but I really wanted Caufield. I think he going to be the steal of the first round.

At best, Cauflied is gonna be an Alex debrincat, which is hell of player, but Seider has top pairing potential and is what the wings need most. We might not have a 45-50 goal scorer like Debrincat, but we have goal scorers. Two 30 goals scorer in AA, larks, basically 3 if Mantha played a full season. Plus you add Zadina to that. Bertuzzzi is looking like he’s gonna be 20-30 guy. Rasmussen net front on that powerplay. Gonna be deadly

Yea I am happy with Seider. But in the moment i was disappointed. Trust in Stevie! I don't think bert will be a 30 goal guy, but I can see him being the physical 20 consistent 20 goal guy we hoped Abs would be.

I agree I think the wings are a couple seasons away from being legit!
