I made the point yesterday that McCabe doesn't hold the value to get us the number 2 center we need. Thank you for reinforcing my point. No interest in rask.

Who do Sabres fans ID as their 2C target outside the organization?

We have mittelstadt and cozens that should be the #2 within a few years. Need a placeholder- names like bonino and haula have been mentioned, shouldnt cost too much and fit the timeline. Somebody like tyler johnson who would cost more would also work here, and he can slide to wing when the time comes. Rask is not a great skater and doesnt put up a ton of points, hes not terribly expensive but that doesnt exactly fill the hole thats open. With due respect, im sure every fanbase gets this too, just because a guy would be our second best center today, doesnt make him a #2 center. And since we likely have to pass montreal and florida to be in the hunt, rask as our #2 doesnt work. Im still hoping to move ristolainen for the single best center or rw available, but thats gonna sort itself out or it isnt.
