Description

9.3 million for 5 years is better, but I expect a anti Marner backlash since Aho gets 8.45 million for 5 years. The 6th year solves that problem. 2 million less than his asking price but 1 million more than Aho. It's also places his contract in the middle of Nylander's and Matthews worth, plus and minus 2 million. Honestly I believe Marner should look for 6 years just so he and J.T. hit UFA together. Let the other duo, Matthews and Nylander hit UFA first, in 5 years from now.

New owner in the desert, looking to make a splash, I wonder if there is a Mathews and Ceci to the desert and enough of a haul coming back for it to make sense and move Nylander to the middle

Any idea who those comparables would be in the desert and would keep you cap compliant ?
Couple of Hall of Famers coming back for your generational talent ?
How'd that work out for Edmonton ?
