take out the retention and the Namestnikov works. The other trade doesn't deserve commentary.

I have to be honest with you man, as a fellow Rangers fan, you way overvalue our players. Especially when we’re coming from a position of weakness because of our cap situation...

You're willing to retain and take on namest? I personally would do lehky and a 2nd (1st if kreids resigns) for kreids alone

how so? all I have to go by is precedents...

Burakovsky: 2nd + 3rd
Soderberg: 3rd + Kevin Connauton
Shaw: 2nd + 3rd

All comparable players to Namestnikov. All carrying similar cap hits. But suddenly....Namestnikov doesn't deserve a single 2nd or a single 3rd (much less both), in fact, salary has to be retained just to trade him.

In fact the closest comp to the cap situation is the Erik Haula trade in which he received Nicolas Roy and a 5th....and Haula is coming off a season where he played 15 games, suffered a freak crazy knee injury and we'll never know if he'll ever be the same again...

These are the comps, I even provided a couple of cap crunched teams for reference.

Namestnikov's actual value is about a 2nd. Getting a 4th for him is the price you pay for being cap crunched...not whatever you're proposing...
