Wow. Two comments to say the same thing. You must really hope he doesn't go anywhere except Detroit

Vejdemo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>I don't know much either. He's a year younger than Vejdemo and was picked higher, but he's injured right now, which isn't helping him make a case for the NHL spot next fall that I'm still optimistically pencilling him in for.
ETA: I think in terms of value, Vejdemo is worth more now than when he was picked in the 3rd round, and Sutter and Clark, until they get some ice time, are falling.
So possible values might look like:
Clark or Sutter plus a 4th for Vejdemo,
Djoos for Vejdemo and a 4th.
Johansen for Vejdemo and Leskinen?</div></div>
No way MTL gives away Leskinen. They value him high

I don't know that much about Johansen value. But i'd argue that Mtl would want him. Young LD with size could be what they are looking.

Hall Trade
it's not enough. NJD will look for at least :
-1st pick
-prospect
-condition if hall resign
and i think theyll ask for a depth player too.
I think an offer would look like :
2020 1st pick
Bowers/Kaut/Timmins (any of them)
conditional 1st if Hall re signs
Nichushkin/Greer/something like that
Look at Duchene trade

I'd try to chip in Mete instead of Brook. Not that i don't like Mete or anything, but in the next year it would look like :
Chychrun - Petry
Romanov - Fleury
Kulak - Brook
which imo is better than :
Romanov - Petry
Kulak - Fleury
Mete - Juulsen
Edit : But the value looks fine. Great trade

What to do
If you want to make Mtl takes Vlasic's contract, it will cost AT LEAST a 1st round pick. If you want to throw in Drouin, give another 1st and more

Byron to Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Its not about dropping spots in the draft. yeah sure its only a couple spots potentially. Its principle. IF Byron was worth a 2nd and a 3rd, why not just pay that price and keep the 1st? Why up the ante to a 1st just top get another later pick back? Barring EDM winning the cup, every pick before it is a high chance at a solid NHL'er. Why risk losing that for....Byron? (And I like Byron but lets be real here too)</div></div>
I only said that i can see this happening given this situation. Not said it will happen/it is logic

Byron to Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>itsgilli98</b></div><div>I believe edmonton could make the playoffs this years so it wouldn't be a high 1st rounder. Maybe if it's conditional (lottery protected) ?</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Let's just assume the value is equal, just because you add quantity to a deal doesn't necessarily get you quality in return. For example, EDM would be wayyy more interested in giving up a 2nd and a 3rd (If they were interested in doing that based on what you said) for Byron than giving up a 1st but getting a 3rd back.</div></div>
Maybe by TDL if Edmonton is still in the top of the league and Montreal are way out of playoff, Byron and a 2nd (32-40) vs 1st (24-31) is an option. But as F50Marco mentionned it, they would definitively do 2nd and 3rd before this

Bolts have like 7,5 millions to sign 6-7 players if i recall correctly. OS sergachev for 5-6 millions (1st and 3rd) and they won't match it

Canucks-MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ItsBlowTime</b></div><div>You're joking? with that 1mil retention already from the trade lets compare.. AL: (232-42-42-84) $2.4M. SB: (285 - 66-70-136) $2.6M Statistically they're quite similar and with the retention, they're basically the same player. The third is a gift.
Not entirely true. Due to his injury history from last season he was sent down 'cause the management saw "hesitation" in his game and wanted to get him back on form. Think of it as a confidence stint rather than a conditioning stint. That being said, injuries have been an issue with him but I feel the 3rd is more than fair.</div></div>
My bad. Misread. But, still think Montreal won't do this, Lehkonen has his best season last year, is responsible in every zone and his on a good pace.

He's good. But not what habs need to "fix the problem". To be honest, i don't think habs should move right now. If they do, it's to acquire draft pick for the upcoming draft in Mtl.
Tampa, Boston, Toronto, Florida are better than Montreal and Buffalo are playing well right now.
Washington, Carolina, NYI and Pittsburgh (when healthy) are better than Montreal.
Also, Columbus and Philadelphia are not bad.
So why fight to maybe do the playoff? Young guys are looking great for once.
I'd take my chances with Krug next summer
