        Wow 12 Million for Stamkos over 8 years? That's gonna hurt the team long term, also I like Theodore, but I think if we trade our best current forward in JVR I would like to get maybe a bit more of an experienced defenseman? I'd prefer someone like Trouba or Fowler to solidify our top six. I also don't think EDM would want the Cowen buyout cap credit. Also I really don't think trading Johnson for UFA rights to Stamkos is worth it, I don't think were losing a lot but I think if Stamkos were to come to TO it wouldn't matter if it was 7 or 8 so may as well make it short for the Leafs

        Giving Stamkos 12mil would be a huge mistake. If Stamkos is looking for that kind of money he won't get it in Toronto.

        12 million for Stamkos is what maybe reported that Buffalo would pay so it's just a match to them. Yzerman said he would rather have something then nothing for Stamkos that's why I add Johnson in sign and trade. Cowen was was someone to just get of the books since Lupal was the last buy out for them. EDM gets a Defenceman who could be a 5 or 6 for them in Purcy. JVR was casualty to make more room for Stamkos. Also looking ahead to expansion draft by trying to get ride of the no move contracts
