I really don't want Frans back, even at that price. We just have no need for him. Koivula can take his spot after this season, we just need a 3C with an expiring contract for this season. He's also the most overrated player in Islander history.

I'd agree with all of this, but you're overlooking that this would get us out of Ladd's contract. I'd much rather overpay Frans for the next 3 years than overpay Ladd for the next 4 years. Sure, Nielsen was overrated, but he's an ideal 3rd line Center.

Not sure if Winnipeg would do that trade. But it can't be far off. Top 4 defenseman, future middle six winger and future middle pairing Power Play QB? Not a bad package. I'm sure Jets fans would hate it, but I like this idea a lot. Well done. Only thing I'd change is I'd switch Bailey with Ho-Sang. Beau and Frans are great defensive forwards who can still shoot, those are exactly the kind of skaters I want surrounding Ho-Sang.

Hit the nail on the head with the frans/ladd trade. Trade a prospect and a bad salary for a slightly better salary and someone that can actually play.

Not sure on the WPG trade either. Honestly if it came down to it, I'd trade dobson straight up.
