I think it's reasonable, as they can retain and trade later on possibly (1/2 years left).

Detroit won't take Ryan he is 2 expensive especially when they have several important players before the start of 2020-21 season. If you want to trade Chlapik for Ericsson straight up thats fine but since Detroit is still rebuilding they aren't going giving away draft picks. The cap Detroit might lose from Z and Franzen this will minimal if any. Plus Frazen is last year of his contract and then he will be completely off the books and with only 1 player on LITR the LITR relief should cover Z's cap hit. So there is no reason him.
