Is gonna take up a lot of that space . Plus they just lost a dman so mueller fits that need . Frolik would be a cap dump for flames hence the draft picks.

Correction: Tkachuk is gonna take up ALL of that space, but Calgary can promote Yeltsin and pay Mangiapane $1.1MM and send Frolik off somewhere for a third or fourth in return and their problem is solved. If they want Mueller instead, sending a fourth with Frolik ought to be sufficient. Frolik isn't useless, like Backes or Ericsson; that's why you have him on your third line.

Yeah it’s not a bad idea he had, I just can’t see Calgary wanting to move the 2nd, as they have been without a 2nd rounder since 2016. That’s not to say they wouldn’t move it at the deadline, but I doubt they wanna burn that possible trade chip so soon. They can always keep Frolik and move out Jankowski and Czarnik too.

What NHL teams can take on a 30 point 3rd line winger that makes 4.3 million ? Not many. Calgary needs the cap space and the devils have some . It’s just gonna cost them a little

If they move out Jankowski and Czarnik it’s 2.8 million but they still need to replace those guys with guys on ELCs so add back 1.5 million . So Calgary only saves 1.3 million . Not sure if that’s gonna be enough depending on what Tkachuk wants .
