You took a really reasonable position for others to have, and called them naive. Don’t make yourself out to be this sweetheart that was just politely voicing his opinion. You were trying to be an a hole. Nothing wrong with that, I do it all the time...just own it.

It would be similar to me saying, “anyone that thinks auston Matthews will ever have a 50 goal season is naive.”

Actually I was just politely voicing my opinion before you came out to flame me... for no reason at all. I also never called anyone naive. I said it would be naive to think he won’t re sign. Funny how you have to change the wording. You could have just said it’s naive to think Matthews will ever score 50 goals. You have every right to think that. Hell you may even be right. But it’s still just your opinion.

Again my point is basing an offersheet on the basis that Toronto won’t match because they don’t believe they could re sign Mitch to me is just not well thought out. Would you not agree to the same scenario with Mcavoy? I offer Mcavoy 7m x 4 years. Does Boston walk away?

The point being that there is a segment of hockey fans that think Mitch wants out of Toronto.
