Even before the salary cap, when Detroit and NYR regularly outspent most teams by this much, they still usually signed a checking center or two. The times they went this old in net, sometimes that didn't work out so well for them. Yeah, this team could win it all, but with a lack of defensive forwards, if their aging goalies go on a cold streak together, they could spiral and miss the playoffs, too. I certainly don't think they'd win more than three out of the next five years.
