Projected Leaf lines

Created by: Leafsfan62
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 30, 2016

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is my realistic expectation for the leafs next season. I believe they will hold off on July first and save cap space for next off-season when they could bring in UFA John Tavares. I believe that Greening, Holland, Lupul, Laich and Corrado could be on the move, and otherwise their contracts will likely be buried in the minors. I think Bozak will get shipped for some help on defence, but that could happen later on in the year and for now I will keep him on the third line.

With Michaleks, Laich, Robidas and Bernier all off the books next season we will have plenty of room to sign Tavares, or another "Big Fish" next off-season.

Mathews will be centering the third line to start the season. As per an interview with Coach Babcock about a week and a half ago.
Id flip Hyman and Michalek too. Marner would benefit more from having Michalek as his winger.

Just can't see Brown being useful on the 4th line. It is very likely he starts there but seems like a very odd spot for him.

Brown was a stong defencive player on the marlies. He was one of there best penalty killers. He is an NHL ready player , i would plug him in on the right side of Bozak and put soshnikov on the 4th. Soshnikov struggled with the Marlies after he had a great showing with the Leafs and was even a healthy scratch i believe during the calder cup playoffs. Hyman and soshnikov both struggled to find thdre game in the playoffs actually so anothrr year in the Ahl isnt a bad thing no need to rush.
