Don't call it a retool or rebuild, they were never good, so it's just a tool or a build

Sure.

PIT trade: please no. Enough of these Rask for Johnson trades. The Wild need cap space in 4 years when guys like Kunin, Greenway, Eriksson Ek, Donato, Fiala, Kaprizov, Brodin, and maybe Boldy all need new contracts. Having Rask gives us more flexibility for those contracts, Johnson does not.

WPG trade: Holy **** no. That's an insane price to pay for Laine. I like Laine and he definitely fills a need, but I think the only player I'd be OK moving Dumba for is Brayden Point. Dumba has future norris winner written all over him and RD is a much more valuable position than a winger. You say the Wild have no star player, well Dumba is as close to a star player as we have. He was on pace for 30 goals last year.

NYR trade: doesn't make a lot of sense. We have a ton of fringe NHL'ers (Mayhew, Sturm, Brown, and Stafford on a PTO) so getting another using a pick doesn't make sense to me. Brown will be on waivers anyways.

PHI trade: doubt Philly gives up Brink after they just drafted him last year. I liked him at the draft, but I just don't see it. Philly's ownership got impatient with Hextall so I don't think they move any prospects for picks, rather they'd move prospects for players that can help bring them a cup in the next couple years.

Lines are also wonky. Assuming that asinine Laine trade went through, it should be:
Zucker - Staal - Zuccarello
Parise - Kunin - Laine
Fiala - Koivu - Donato/Greenway (another reason I don't like the Laine trade: forces one of Donato or Greenway to be on the 4th line)
Greenway/Donato - Eriksson Ek - Hartman/Foligno

The Wild have had good seasons the past 5+ years. Made the playoffs 6 years in a row before last year, I'd call that good. Obviously if you're basing it off of ability to win a cup, then yeah that's not happening.

I mean they've been to the 2nd round twice and haven't been bad enough to draft in the top 4 multiple times unlike a certain popular franchise.
